Desert AIDS Project welcomes Dr. Jeffrey Enejosa

(PALM SPRINGS, CA – July 8, 2009)

Dr. Jeffrey Enejosa has joined the staff of Desert AIDS Project in the Wells Fargo HIV Health Center. He is a Board-Certified physician with more than 14 years of clinical and research experience in Internal Medicine, with a strong specialization in HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, and related illnesses. Dr. Enejosa joins Dr. Clayton Barbour, Medical Director; Joe Dahman, Nurse Practitioner; and Dr. Shubha Kerkar, Infectious Disease Specialist.

“Dr. Enejosa is a welcome addition to our medical staff because we pride ourselves on providing the best possible care to our clients,” says David Brinkman, Executive Director of Desert AIDS Project. “All of our physicians are credentialed by the American Association of HIV Medicine and possess the most current base of knowledge for treating HIV and AIDS.”

Desert AIDS Project serves a client base of about 2,300 men, women, and children living with or affected by HIV or AIDS. In addition to medical services, D.A.P. provides clients with case management or care coordination, including home health care workers for those clients who are home-bound. They also provide food, housing, transportation, legal, and dental services, as well as mental health, substance abuse, and support group programs.

D.A.P.’s Education, Prevention, and Testing Department aims to reduce the rate of HIV infection locally. Confidential, rapid-result HIV testing is offered at locations throughout the desert cities and community outreach is conducted to high-risk populations at parks, homeless shelters, bars and clubs, and health fairs. HIV prevention information is also presented at substance abuse and probation programs, at-risk youth facilities, community organizations, school districts, prisons, and faith communities.
