Women and girls: get tested for HIV and get a $15 Stater Brothers card
(PALM SPRINGS, CA – March 9, 2009)
"HIV is right here at home" is the theme of National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on March 10. Desert AIDS Project will mark the occasion with three days of incentives – a $15 Stater Brothers card – for those making an appointment, taking a free and confidential HIV test, and receiving their preliminary results in about 20 minutes.
In Indio, testing will be offered at Desert AIDS Project, 82365 Highway 111, Suite 100, from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM. on both Tuesday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 11. Since no tests will be offered without an appointment, anyone interested in taking an HIV test on either of those days should call 342-4197 before arriving.
On Thursday, March 12, free and confidential HIV testing will be offered from 1:00 – 7:00 PM at Desert AIDS Project’s main facility at 1695 N. Sunrise Way in Palm Springs. Call 323-2118 to make a required appointment.
