Desert Regional Medical Center is Presenting Sponsor
of 21st Anniversary Desert AIDS Walk
(PALM SPRINGS, CA – March 28, 2008)
Desert AIDS Project is pleased to announce that Desert Regional Medical Center has donated $25,000 as Presenting Sponsor of the Desert AIDS Walk on Saturday, October 25, 2008.
“As a primary health care provider to the desert cities, Desert Regional appreciates the importance of what Desert AIDS Project is doing every day for its 2,300 clients, as well as helping to reduce the transmission of HIV,” said Cliff Daniels, Associate Administrator of Business Development at Desert Regional Medical Center. “We’re hoping our contribution and support will get D.A.P. off to an early start toward their goals of 3,000 Walkers and raising $300,000. We hope the entire community will get behind their cause and come out to walk with them.”
October 25, 2008 will mark the 21st anniversary of the Desert AIDS Walk. Besides raising necessary funds to provide services to the clients of D.A.P and others at-risk for HIV, it serves to remind the public that AIDS is not over.
“Desert Regional Medical Center is a great example of our local supporters who have helped us grow from a grassroots operation 24 years ago to the nationally-recognized AIDS service organization that we are today,” said David Brinkman, Executive Director of Desert AIDS Project. “Without the support of our generous and vibrant community, we couldn’t continue to serve our ever-increasing client base of individuals and families affected by HIV and AIDS.”
Desert AIDS Project is the organization in our community where people living with HIV and AIDS can receive comprehensive support, including medical care, case management, and social services. D.A.P. also offers confidential HIV testing at a number of locations and widespread education and prevention services for schools, civic organizations, businesses, churches, and health organizations throughout the communities it serves.
