This is a chance for you to learn more about volunteering at the Walk.

Each year, over 150 volunteers help make the Desert AIDS Walk a safe and fun event for all the participants. If you are interested in volunteering, here are some of the ways you can help.

Want to Volunteer before the Walk?

We will need assistance at Walk rallies, at our phone bank, distributing posters and registration forms, filling incentive bags, and other jobs as needed.

Want to Volunteer at the Walk?

Registration 6:30 am
Volunteers are responsible for checking in Walkers, collecting funds and distributing incentives. Registration volunteers must be at least 16 years old and willing to attend a mandatory orientation that will be led on Wednesday, October 22 4:00 pm.

Monitors 8:00 am
Help keep walkers safe and assist the City of Palm Springs to keep traffic running smoothly. You will also direct Walkers as necessary and encourage them as they Walk along. Some monitors will help at water stations along the route. You must be 16 years of age or accompanied by an adult. A mandatory meeting will be held at the Desert AIDS Project on Saturday, October 21 from 4:00 pm ­–5:00 pm

Set up volunteers & hosts 6:30 am
Hosts/Set up volunteers will arrive before the event and help direct walkers to the various activity areas in the park and set up booths and activity areas. Some hosts will be assigned to various activity areas as coordinators for those sites. A mandatory meeting will be held at the Desert AIDS Project on Saturday, October 21 from 4:00 pm ­–5:00 pm

Hospitality 6:30 am
Hospitality volunteers help distribute food and welcome volunteers to the event. Volunteers will be posted in the park and at our hospitality station midway on the route.

October 24 Set up at Frances Stevens Park 2:00 pm

October 25 Desert AIDS Walk 6:30 am arrival for registration/on-site hosts and set-up volunteers, Monitors check in by 8:00 am.
